With two most talked about tracks from Raabta being remade, it has once again been proved that Bollywood is still not over the trend of recreating old songs. The newer versions are much more upbeat and catchy. With these foot-tapping numbers becoming a rage amongst the youngsters, here is lowdown on 12 remixed songs you’ve loved so far.
Samjhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania)
Arijit Singh's soulful rendition to Samjhwan from the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania has done justice to the original song sung by the very talented Rahet Fateh Ali Khan. This song perfectly brings out the hidden emotions in the lead pair in the film and Varun and Alia's crackling chemistry adds as a plus point.
Soch Na Sake (Airlift)
Airlift's romantic number is a remake version of Hardy Sandhu's Soch. The newer version was shot in a dream like sequence wherein the lead couple in the film can be seen reflecting back on their past memories they shared. Arjit's voice adds the much-needed passion to the song.
Kar Gayi Chull (Kapoor & Sons)
The peppy number from the film Kapoor & Sons is aptly shown as the perfect song for a house party. This song is a revamped version of Badshah and Fazilpuria's famous song Kar Gayi Chull. The revamped version has Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra grooving to the dance number. The song has been recreated by Amaal Malik and sung by Badshah, Fazilpuria, Sukriti Kakar and Neha Kakar.
Kala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho)
Everyone loved the first song Kala Chashma that was released from the movie Baar Baar Dekho that had Katrina Kaif flexing her abs and Sidharth Malhotra looking dapper in sherwani. However, this is the recreated version of Amar Arshi's 2005 hit song Tenu Kala Chasma Jachta Ve. This new song has received millions of views on YouTube and is still very popular.
Koi Fariyad (Tum Bin 2)
This song from the movie Tum Bin 2 is the reprised version of the ghazal sung by none other than Jagit Singh. Rekha Bhardwaj has rendered her voice to the reprised version. The song perfectly blends emotions with the story and the soulful song manages to strike a chord with the audience once again.
Humma Humma (Ok Jaanu)
This song is the recreated version of Mani Ratnam's 1995 film Bombay and was reinvented for the 2017 movie Ok Jaanu. Jubin Nautiyal and Shashaa Tripathi lend their voice to the new version and it also had Badshah rapping. The new song featuring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor looked sizzling hot on screen thanks to their amazing chemistry.
Haseeno Ka Deewana (Kaabil)
Kaabil's Haseeno Ka Deewana was a newer version of Amitabh Bachchan's one of the most famous songs Saara Zamaana Haseeno Ka Deewana. The remixed version was picturised on Urvashi Rautela . This version has been sung by a female playback singer.
Laila Main Laila (Raees)
This song featuring Sunny Leone made people go crazy and created the much-needed anticipation for Raees. This iconic number originally was filmed on Zeenat Aman for the film Qurbani. Sunny Leone's presence in the song increased the song's oomph factor.
Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast (Machine)
The original song is considered a classic, courtesy the chemistry shared between Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar. It's reprised version starring Kiara Advani and Mustafa Burmawalla did not go down well with the audience and as a result, this song received huge backlash.
Tamma Tamma Again (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
This was the reinvented version of Bappi Lahiri's Tamma Tamma Loge song from the movie Thanedaar. This new song had Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan dancing to it. The song manages to retain its old charm maybe due to the fact this song has also been sung by Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal who had sung the original song.
Raabta (Raabta)
It is the renewed version of Arijit Singh's Raabta from the movie Agent Vinod. Though the older version was much more of a romantic song, the newer version has quite a tropical feel to it and can be regarded as an enjoyable fare. Nikhita Gandhi and Arijit Singh have lended their voice to the new version.
Main Tera Boyfriend (Raabta)
Raabta has another track that is remake of J-Star's Na Na Na Na. The recreated version is much more of an upbeat song as compared to the original that was truly a Punjabi track. The foot tapping number features Sushant Singh and Kriti Sanon who look amazing in their new avatar.
