'My Mother Wasn't Ready To Accept That Her Daughters Had Grown Up': Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor is one of the stars of Bollywood who has been busy carving a niche for herself in the industry. The actress has been proving her acting mettle with one film at a time and is gradually proving to be a bankable actress. Apart from that, she also makes heads turn with her impeccable fashion sense often leaves her fans impressed. Recently, in an interview, Janhvi talked about the big role of her mother and shared a very private anecdote.

Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of late Indian actress Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor. In many interviews, she has shared that her mother never wanted her to choose acting as her career and instead wanted her to be a doctor. However, now, the actress has reportedly shared a private story between herself and her mother.

Reportedly, in an interview, Janhvi shared that her mother was not ready to accept that her daughters had grown up. The Bawaal actress said that Sridevi did not accept that her girls needed to wear undergarments (bras). When asked if it was her mother or father who introduced her to her first bra, she shared that it was her mother. Janhvi Kapoor shared that her mother used to say that “they are still young and don’t need these things”. But it was the young actress who insisted on her mother and told her she needed them.

Janhvi Kapoor marked her debut in the industry with Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter in the film Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan. She has featured in films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Roohi, Good Luck Jerry, Mili and Bawaal. She was recently seen in the latest film, Mr and Mrs Mahi. She starred opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film also featured Zarina Wahab, Kumud Mishra and Rajesh Sharma in key roles. The film is directed by Sharan Sharma.

Apart from this, the actress is all set to mark her debut in the Telugu industry with Devara: Part 1 opposite RRR actor Jr NTR. The film is directed by Koratala Siva.
