Released in 2017, Ravi Udyawar’s MOM has clocked seven years since its release. Featuring a stellar cast of actors like Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddique and Akshaye Khanna, the film tells the story of a vigilante mother who decides to take action after her young stepdaughter is sexually assaulted. Made on a minimal budget of Rs 30 crore, MOM earned over Rs 100 crore and left a long-lasting impression among fans as the late actress’ last film. On the film’s 7th anniversary, actor Nawazuddin Siddique reflected on his experience and the privilege of working with the legend.
On his Instagram Stories, Siddique shared a video featuring glimpses from the film, including a short clip of Sridevi’s interview. “Even today, I miss Sridevi dearly. I had a great time working with her in MOM and doing a family with Sridevi was a privilege and a joy. Thanks for your kind words,” he wrote.
In the video, the late actress can be seen talking about Nawazuddin’s acting talent. “It’s really wonderful to see him on the screen. He is a gifted actor. I am a huge admirer of his work, and I have so much respect for him as an actor,” she said. Well, not just Sridevi, but MOM director Ravi Udyawar also heaped praise on the Gangs of Wasseypur actor.
“There is a reason audiences and the industry alike refer to Nawazuddin as one of the finest actors in the country. When I explained his look to him, he was really excited because it gave him the opportunity to do something different, and as an actor, he is constantly on the lookout for doing something that challenges him,” he said during one of the promotional events.
