PadMan Challenge Unites Bollywood; Celebrities Break Taboo Surrounding Menstrual Hygiene
The likes of Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Shabana Azmi, Rajkummar Rao and Anushka Sharma have accepted the Pad Man Challenge.

R Balki's PadMan, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key roles, is all set to hit the theatres this Friday after pushing its release date to secure a solo release for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. While the viewers are excited to watch the film on big screen, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in using several creative strategies to promote the film. The latest one is the PadMan Challenge that has already taken the social media by storm.

The idea of this challenge is to break the taboo surrounding menstrual hygiene and sanitary pads by posting a photo with a sanitary napkin on social media. Started by the original Pad Man of India, A Muruganantham, the challenge has now been accepted by several celebrities including the likes of Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan, Diana Penty, Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurranna among others.

"Yes that’s a Pad in my hand & there's nothing to be ashamed about. It's natural! Period. #StandByHer Copy, Paste this & Challenge your friends to take a photo with a Pad!" wrote Muruganantham.

Twinkle Khanna posted a photo challenging Aamir Khan and Shabana Azmi. Aamir Khan, too, did the same and further asked Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to join.

Sonam challenged Arjun Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Jaqueline Fernandez to do the same.

The trail is still continuing with several Bollywood biggies joining the league.
