Malayalam cinema star Joju George has impressed the audience with his skills in numerous unique portrayals. Now, the actor will venture into filmmaking with his upcoming titled Pani, where he is donning the director’s hat. As the trailer is unveiled, some of the biggest names in cinema, heaped praises towards the project on their respective social media handles.
Taking to his official Instagram handle, Anurag Kashyap shared a lengthy note praising the film as well as its director, calling it a “powerful thriller” in the caption. He wrote, “Malayalam Cinema continues to shock and surprise and blow your mind. Saw this powerful thriller/drama film from @jojugeorgeactorofficial.” He added, “It rises to the level of some of the best Korean new wave films,” also mentioning the trailer release and the film’s official release date, October 24.
Joju George shared his heartfelt thanks to the filmmaker in the comment section. He wrote, “Thank you so much, sir. You have been always my inspiration in cinema, your kind words humbled me, thanks a ton.”
Furthermore, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, famed for helming the hit Jigarthanda Double X, shelled praises towards Pani on his Instagram stories. He wrote, “I saw this film and it’s superb. An edge-of-the-seat action thriller with super intense performances.” A screenshot of the story was shared by Joju on his Instagram handle, with the caption, “This from My dearest Karthik Subbaraj @ksubbaraj. Thank you for your support.”
Pani, written and directed by Joju George, will be released on October 24. The cast includes Joju George, Abhinaya, Sagar Surya, Abhaya Hiranmayi, Seema and many others. It is being produced by M Riaz Adam and Sijo Vadakka under the banners of AD Studios and Appu Pathu Pappu. The music in the film is being done by Sam C S and Vishnu Vijay. While Venu ISC and Jinto George are doing the cinematography and Manu Antony is the editor.
