Parineeti Chopra On Following Politics After Marriage With Raghav Chadha: 'Ab Toh Karna Padta Hai'
Parineeti Chopra talked about her growing interest in politics while noting that Raghav hasn't yet delved into her profession.

Parineeti Chopra is earning praise for her performance in Netflix’s Amar Singh Chamkila, where she stars alongside Diljit Dosanjh as his wife and singing partner, Amarjot Kaur. The film has received acclaim from both audiences and critics alike. Outside of her acting success, Parineeti Chopra made headlines for her rumoured marriage to politician Raghav Chadha. In a recent interview, she discussed her growing interest in politics while acknowledging Raghav Chadha’s support for her career.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti said she was never interested in politics. However, she feels driven to pursue it now since her husband, Raghav Chadha, is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. She told the portal, “Ab toh karna padta hai (I’ve got to follow politics now). But my complaint is that he doesn’t follow entertainment. God only knows (what he watched on screen last). And only he knows. I have to cue him. He knows nothing about films. He knows a little about music, but he won’t know if it’s my film song. So I have to continuously nudge him, ‘Just pretend like you know’ (laughs). So it’s sweet.”

The actress added that the best part is that she doesn’t know anything about politics, and Raghav doesn’t know anything about entertainment, so they talk about life which is ideal for her.

During the interview, Parineeti Chopra shared that initially, she had little awareness of Raghav Chadha’s prominence in Indian politics. She stated that the first time she met him, she was clueless about his professional achievements. At present, Parineeti mentioned, “But now that I know him and his work, who he is, and what he does, he’s one of the most impressive people. To be the youngest member of Parliament. At 35, be part of this party and do the work he’s doing.” The actress stated that it’s good to be married to someone who isn’t in the industry. This allows her to lead a life outside of the film industry. She added that Raghav had made her “life more normal.”
