The rapidly growing advance booking sales indicate the enthusiasm of the audience towards the film.

Prabhas-starrer dystopian science fiction pan-India film Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit the cinema halls on June 27, 2024. With barely a day left for this much-anticipated film, the advance booking for this project has witnessed an upward trend. As per reports, over 2.1 lakh tickets have been sold with a revenue of Rs 6.25 crore on June 24. As per the reports, this massive number of tickets have been sold within 24 hours. The rapidly growing advance booking sales indicate the enthusiasm the audience has shown for the Nag Ashwin-directorial film. Besides Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD boasts of a stellar star cast starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and others in important roles.

Kalki 2898 AD is also making waves internationally, selling over 1,13,000 tickets and collecting USD 3 million for day one in the North American region.

Amidst such massive craze for Kalki 2898 AD, a decision by the Karnataka government is making headlines. The government has increased ticket prices and added additional screenings of the film. As per reports, the government has allowed a special 5:30 AM show on the first day at a higher rate of Rs 200 extra. On the other hand, the makers have also been permitted to screen five shows for the first 8 days. These shows will be screened between June 27 and July 4, across all theatres in the state. Some are excited about the early screening, others are raising concerns and criticising the Telangana government for inflated ticket prices.

A social media user confirmed the news on X. As per the permit, the government has approved a Rs 75 increase for single-screen theatres and Rs 100 in multiplexes across the state for regular shows.

With such massive ticket rates, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to break major box office records within a week. Many shared their opinion about the effect of these rates and questioned if this is the right strategy. Others are worried about piracy, as increased prices may lead people to download the movie from illegal websites.
