Ranveer Singh is mighty impressed by Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD. The actor, who watched the film with Deepika on Tuesday night, took to his Instagram Stories and praised her as well as her co-stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan’s performances. Ranveer also bowed down to director Nag Ashwin and called Kalki 2898 AD a ‘grand cinematic spectacle’
The Simmba actor wrote, “Kalki 2898 – a grand cinematic spectacle. That’s what big screen cinema is all about! An unprecedented level of finesse in technical execution. The very best in Indian cinema. Congrats to Nag sir & team.” Addressing Prabhas, Amitabh and Kamal, Ranveer said, “Rebel star rocks! Ulaganayagan is forever supreme! And if you are a die-hard Amitabh Bachchan fan like me, you just can’t miss this.”
Speaking about Deepika, Ranveer wrote, “As for my baby, you elevate every moment with your grace & dignity. Such poignancy, such poetry, such power. You are beyond compare. I love you.”

Parents-to-be Ranveer and Deepika were spotted at a theatre in Lower Parel on Tuesday night. They were seen making their way out of the theatre after watching Kalki 2898 AD. When the paparazzi asked Ranveer about his review of the film, the actor sported a big smile and gestured that the film is ‘superb’. Watch the video below:
Kalki 2898 AD has been doing phenomenal business. The film has collected Rs 371 Cr in India and has surpassed Rs 550 crore box office collection worldwide.
The Telugu film, which has been released in four other languages, heavily draws inspiration from Mahabharat. The film is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people — a pregnant woman named Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be carrying a child that is the 10th avatar of Vishnu; the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who has been tasked to protect the unborn child; a ruthless villain named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who wants the child dead for he knows the child will be the end of the baddie; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who would sell anyone in return of money.
The film is being loved by all, and theories for Kalki 2898 AD part 2 have already taken over the internet.
