Ryan Reynolds Ready To 'Offer Millions' To Justin Baldoni To Ensure Blake Lively's Role In It Ends With Us Sequel
According to a source, Ryan Reynolds is willing to offer millions to It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni to secure Blake Lively's future in the sequel.

Months after the release of the romantic film It Ends With Us, a significant development appears to be unfolding, particularly involving Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively’s husband. A latest update indicates that Reynolds is poised to invest millions to safeguard his wife’s future in the film series. This move comes amid the escalating rumours of tension between Lively, and co-star and director of the film, Justin Baldoni. During the film’s promotional period, speculations of rift between the actors gained momentum.

According to a source cited by Life & Style, “Ryan is willing to offer millions to Blake’s director and costar, Justin Baldoni, in an attempt to buy out his stake in the franchise so Blake can continue her role without having to work with Justin, with whom she clashed.” Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, hold the rights to the Colleen Hoover novels that the film adapts. “This is the biggest film Blake has ever made. Ryan wants to make sure she isn’t replaced in the sequel!” the source further added.

If the development turns out to be accurate, it wouldn’t be the first time Reynolds has made a significant impact on Lively’s film. During an interview with E! News on August 6, Lively revealed an intriguing detail, stating, “The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that but you now.”

Lively also contributed by voicing Lady Deadpool in Reynolds’ high-profile Marvel release, Deadpool & Wolverine. “We help each other. He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine, and mine are his,” she had said.

However, Reynolds’ behind-the-scenes input was unexpected for screenwriter Christy Hall, who was unaware of his role, according to People.

Lively’s It Ends With Us has become the highest-grossing box-office hit of the actress’ career so far. However, reports of friction between her and Baldoni stirred considerable media attention. The pair did not appear together for photos at the premiere and avoided joint interviews before the film’s release.

Moreover, the film’s marketing faced backlash for allegedly misrepresenting its serious themes of domestic violence and trauma, with some of Lively’s old and recent interview clips going viral for criticism.

Amid the ongoing feud between Lively and Baldoni, the future of It Ends With Us franchise remains uncertain, even though Hoover’s sequel, It Starts With Us, is already available. Apart from Lively and Baldoni, It Ends With Us stars Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj.
