Sara Ali Khan On Childhood Pranks: 'Almost Got Suspended From My School'
Sara Ali Khan said that she was a mischievous student who played pranks on everyone.

Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan turns 29 today, i.e. on August 12. In an old interview, she shared an incident when her mischievous prank got her suspended from school. Sara Ali Khan doesn’t think she grew up in a family of stars and said she doesn’t see herself as one either. “My parents are, but I don’t think I grew up in a family of stars. My father, for example, was always very fussy and my mother is the flag bearer of humility. She believes in keeping your head down and letting your work speak for itself,” Sara said.

Born to actors, Sara stressed that she never had much exposure to stars: “I don’t think I come from a family of stars. I don’t consider myself a star,” she added.

Looking back at her school days, she added that she was a mischievous student who played pranks on everyone. “One prank I remember was dropping glue on fan blades which, when turned on, would spread all over the class. I almost got suspended for that because my principal kept asking why I did that and I had no answer,” she said while laughing.

When asked about her relationship with Saif’s actress wife Kareena Kapoor, Sara replied, “I admire her and her work. She is a professional who always prioritises work. Her way of working is something I want to copy from her.” After completing her graduation in History and Political Science from Columbia University, she made her acting debut in 2018 with director Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath alongside Sushant Singh Rajput.

For her performance in Kedarnath, she was awarded with Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and IIFA Award for the Star Debut of the Year- Female. After that, Sara appeared in director Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film Simmba alongside Ranveer Singh which was among the highest-grossing films of 2018.

Later on, Sara appeared in several big-budgeted films like Love Aaj Kal, Coolie No 1, Atrangi Re, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and others. In 2019, she appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list, securing the 66th position. In a short period, the actress signed several brand endorsement deals. She became the brand ambassador of popular brands like Garnier, Vivo, Pepsi, Kurkure, Puma, and Veet among others.
