Comedian Kapil Sharma is returning with the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. He dropped the season’s promo on social media on Saturday, ahead of the season’s premiere on September 21. As per the promo, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, Rohit Sharma and Jr NTR are among the many guests who will grace the show.
News18 Showsha had reported that one of the first guests on the show will be Alia Bhatt. Alia will be making an appearance with Karan Johar and Vedang Raina to promote Jigra. In one sequence, she can be seen teasing Sunil Kapoor’s Gutthi. She introduces herself to Gutthi as ‘Alia Bhatt Kapoor’, referencing Gutthi’s heartbreak over Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding.

Karan Johar says in the promo that while he is a Bollywood matchmaker, he has yet to find a match for himself. Another sequence shows Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR indulging in a guessing game. Saif Ali Khan also joins them for the promotion of Devara.
Kapil tells Saif that in the first season, Aamir Khan said his son Junaid doesn’t listen to him. As Saif’s son, Ibrahim, will soon make his Bollywood debut, Kapil asked the actor if his son listens to him. Saif quipped, “He should listen to Aamir.”
Members of the winning T20 Indian cricket team also make an appearance in the promo with their captain, Rohit Sharma. Kapil teases Rohit that his show is lucky for the team.
Talking about the upcoming season, Kapil Sharma said, “As promised, we didn’t take too long and palak jhapakte hi hum doosre season ke saath laut aaye hai on Netflix (we are back with Season 2 in the blink of an eye). We are all very thankful for the love that we received for Season 1 of The Great Indian Kapil Show from across the globe. Our audiences have always treated us as a part of their family and we are grateful.”
He added, “This time around, you will see us in different avatars, upping our antics in every episode — we couldn’t do much with Archanaji though… so don’t keep your hopes too high. Season 2 of The Great Indian Kapil Show is nothing but a celebration of who we are, our culture and our people. We are celebrating you, our beloved audience.”
The first season of The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show premiered in March this year and welcomed several guests including Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky and Sunny Kaushal and Imtiaz Ali among others. However, Kapil and his team wrapped up the season in May.
Kapil announced the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show last month and confirmed that Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur will return with their respective hilarious characters.
