Trailer of Simmba starring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Ajay Devgan was released this week and it is all over social media.
The 3-minute trailer took movie buffs on a trip down memory lane, to Rohit Shetty's 2011 blockbuster Singham, which also had all the Shetty essentials: science-defying action sequences, bad guys getting bashed mercilessly and a hint of romance.
Ranveer Singh starts as an anti-Robinhood cop and later turns into a new crusader of women’s safety. His dialogue, “Tell me something I don’t know,” caught netizen's attention, and social media is flooded with hilarious memes.

The film also stars Sonu Sood in a negative role and Ashutosh Rana as a senior cop. Most celebrated for his Golmaal films and masala entertainers such as Chennai Express, Singham and Dilwaale, Rohit Shetty’s Simmba is unapologetic about its mass-orientation. Backed by Reliance Entertainment, Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty Picturez, Simmba is slated to release on December 28.
