Watch: BTS Star V Surprises Big Mama's Lee Ji Young In His Military Uniform

BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung is currently serving his compulsory military service in the South Korean army. While the idol is busy with his duties, a video of him meeting a senior Korean artist has caught the attention of the Internet. Recently, V was spotted at a special military event in Chuncheon. The event, which, according to Allkpop, is a part of Korea’s ‘Month of Patriots and Veterans’ was held on June 9. It included performances by famous artists. During this event, V was spotted interacting with Big Mama’s Lee Ji Young, while he was on patrolling duty.

According to the video, Young initially didn’t recognise the BTS member in his uniform. Then, V introduced himself and greeted her. Lee Ji Young looked visibly surprised and flushed upon knowing this. After a short exchange, V said goodbye and continued with his duty.

Lee Ji Young has also shared the video of the duo’s interaction on Instagram. She recounted their interaction and expressed how pleasantly surprised she was by V’s gentleness in person.

In her post, Lee Ji Young wrote, “Today, after finishing my performance at the Chuncheon Veteran Culture Festival, a handsome soldier greeted me as I descended the stage. I realised he was BTS’s V, my junior.”

“His stage presence always impresses me, but seeing his gentleness off-stage was unexpected. Wearing his uniform, he looked even more magnificent,” she added.

The artist also mentioned that she hopes V completes his military service healthily and that she looks forward to seeing his wonderful self again.

V was reportedly in his military SDT uniform and looked different from his other photos that fans are accustomed to seeing. Delighted fans also shared their admiration and respect for the BTS member and expressed that he looked handsome and cool in the uniform.

Taehyung is reportedly serving in the ‘Double Dragons’ unit of the Special Duty Team of the Military Police, reports Allkpop. He is scheduled to be discharged on June 10, 2025.
