When Actress Raai Laxmi Opened Up About Her Relationship With MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most popular cricketers in the world. He has been happily married to Sakshi Dhoni. The duo tied the knot on July 4, 2010. However, a popular Tamil actress named Raai Laxmi has recently opened up about her relationship with MS Dhoni in the past, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.

MS Dhoni, who was the captain of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2023, except for the 2016 and 2017 seasons holds South India close to his heart. Soon after he was appointed the captain of CSK, there were rumours of MS Dhoni dating Raai Laxmi. These rumours surfaced from 2008 to 2009.

Lakshmi Rai, professionally credited as Raai Laxmi, is a model-turned-actress who predominantly works in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi movies. She made her acting debut in 2005 with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara. Later she worked in popular films like Oru Kadhalan Oru Kadhali, Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam, Aaru Sundarimaarude Katha, Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva, and Officer Arjun Singh IPS Batch 2000, to name a few. She was also the co-star of Ajay Devgn in Bholaa and acted alongside Sonakshi Sinha in her film Akira.

According to reports, MS Dhoni and Raai Laxmi dated each other for a couple of years before his marriage. The couple was seen attending IPL after-parties in 2009, and Dhoni also attended the actress’s birthday bash that year alongside his CSK colleague Suresh Raina.

Raai Laxmi once shared about her relationship with Dhoni. As per reports, the actress had said in 2014, “I’ve begun to believe that my relationship with Dhoni is like a stain or a scar that won’t go away for a long time.”

Reports suggest the couple eventually drifted apart because of their career, which took them in different directions. Just one year after their breakup, MS Dhoni met Sakshi Dhoni and got married. The couple has a daughter now named Ziva Dhoni, who was born on February 6, 2015.

However, till now, MS Dhoni has never spoken publicly about his past relationships. He also manages to keep his private life out of the media.
