Trigger Warning — abuse: Actress Eisha Chopra, best known for her role in Dice Media’s What The Folks took to Instagram and shared the horrifying incident of being groped by an elderly man. The actress penned a 10-part post in which she shared details. She revealed that the incident took place 10 days ago when she was with a friend. She said that a man who appeared to be close to the age of 70 approached her. She thought that he was coming for a handshake but he instead pulled her in and ran his hands over her.
“Around 10 days ago, I was physically groped by a man I did not know, in a public place, filled with people. He was well-dressed, seemed erudite and close to 70 years old. He came up to me and introduced himself and somehow mistook me shaking his hand as an invitation to pull me in, and take his own hands anywhere he pleased. I was a mess for days,” Eisha wrote in her note.
The actress revealed she couldn’t sleep on some nights and overslept on other days. She realised that her body was responding to trauma. “Otherwise, everything was a trigger.” The actress revealed that the incident panned out so fast that her body froze. She added that she couldn’t sleep on some nights and overslept on other days. She realised that her body was responding to trauma. “Otherwise, everything was a trigger.”
She also recounted this is not the first time she has experienced this. Eisha said she was seven when she was first abused. She said she spoke to a friend about the incident from her childhood and realised that her friend had faced something similar as well.
“For obvious reasons, I struggled with this post. I asked myself why I really wanted to write this. Many reasons came to mind, as did many fears. What if people accuse me of playing a victim? What if people think it’s a bid for attention? I thought back to all the conversations where people have defended abuse by saying things like ‘Well, why didn’t they speak up then?’ You all know who you are. And I hope your question is now sufficiently answered.”
Eisha concluded the post that she wanted the attention now on the subject and urged everyone to have a conversation.
