An old statement of Alia Bhatt has resurfaced on social media which has left netizens shocked and disappointed.

An old interview of Alia Bhatt has surfaced on social media which has left netizens disappointed. The interview is dated 2017 when the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress defended star kids and went on to say that she wanted to ‘punch’ those who argue that star kids have easy access to the world of showbiz.

“It is always your journey, irrespective of the family you come from. I don’t think your mum, dad, father or chachu can change that or mend that for you. So, I want to punch all those people who say that star kids have it easy because it makes no sense. The way the world is today, either you have it or you don’t. The only advantage that I have today is that if I want to talk to someone about issues, I can reach out to my father who has that experience,” Alia had said while speaking to the Bombay Times.

Soon after Alia’s statement resurfaced on reddit, netizens were left shocked and disappointed. “If you can’t understand them atleast don’t undermine them but no look at these nepo babies they would never say they are privileged they would always try to put forward there struggle,” one of the users wrote. “She can’t even accept the fact that she’s been privileged all her life. She thinks only talent can get her where she is. The luck factor doesn’t count. There are so many talented people in the industry why they not even close?” another comment read.

Interestingly, this also comes days after Alia Bhatt graced Koffee With Karan and mentioned that she does not bother herself because of trolls. On a similar note, one of the netizens pointed, “Funny because in the recent HT leadership summit she said that she has never said a word against people who have criticized her.” Some other users also called her ‘arrogant’.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani opposite Ranveer Singh. She is currently working on her upcoming movie titled Jigra. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film was announced in September this year. Alia is not just playing the lead in the film but is also producing it. Recently, the 30-year-old actress talked about Jigra and revealed that the film is a story of ‘courage, passion and determination’.
