Every weekend on Bigg Boss 17, Salman Khan comes on the show to give a reality check to the contestants. However, in a welcome twist this time, the Weekend Ka Vaar episode was hosted by filmmaker and former Bigg Boss OTT host Karan Johar. During his time on the show, Karan called out Ankita Lokhande and Mannara Chopra for their behaviour towards Munawar Faruqui, who has been a close friend of the two actresses.
Karan asked Munawar if he felt that Ankita Lokhande was his friend since she had been telling this to everyone. The comedian said, “Not 100%.” Karan then said that since Munawar openly declared Mannara Chopra as his priority, Ankita has taken a “step back”.
Karan asked Ankita, “Did you take a step back because Munawar’s priority is Mannara right now?” The actress denied this and said, “He had put me on the priority list… My problem is that I’m an emotional person. If I get connected and start expecting more from him then I might have a problem.” Karan said, “I am like this, I’m emotional, if I feel bad I will say it to your face. We have only heard you say this, it can’t be seen in your actions. Why did you have this realization only this week?”
Ankita said that she doesn’t want to be a “third wheel” between Munawar and Mannara while the former is confused. Karan said, “This is very convenient Ankita, this is to your convenience.” Earlier during the episode on Friday, Ankita had expressed that she cannot take a stand against Mannara when he is there. The two actresses have often had spats on the show.
As for Mannara, Karan said she only has one task, “asking for validation of her friendship.” Karan called her out for not taking a stand for Munawar Faruqui after he was nominated by Anurag for the entire season. Karan said, “Why did you not question him even once for nominating your best friend? Is this friendship? According to me, it’s hypocrisy.” He added, “It’s called having double standards.” He called out Mannara for seeking support from Munawar but never giving him the same support.
Karan said, “Ek insaan jo tumhe emotional support dene ki koshish kar raha hai, tum uska advantage le rahi ho, sorry, it’s inhuman…Mannara aap Munawar aur Anurag dono ke sath khel rahi ho. Aapko Munawar bhi chahiye aur Anurag bhi. Munawar ne har samay aapke liye stand liya, aapke sath raha aapke har ladai me (You’re taking advantage of the one person who’s trying to give you emotional support. It’s inhuman. Mannara you are playing with both Munawar and Anurag. You want both of them. Munawar has always been with you and supported you in every fight).”
“Aapne kabhi Munawar ke liye stand liya hain? Aapko Munawar ka support chahiye, aapko wo samjhate rahe hamesha. Aur phir aap wo sab Anurag ko batate raho. Ye aapka double standards hai (Have you ever taken a stand for Munawar? You want his support but when he tells you something, you go and blurt it out to Anurag. This is your double standard),” the filmmaker added.
