HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISHAAN KHATTER: Actor Ishaan Khatter’s big-ticket foray into the Hindi film industry was quite tumultuous from the beginning. His major commercial Dhadak was peppered with presumptions even before the film hit the big screens. From dealing with polar opposite reactions from audiences to turning the topsy-turvy start into a blessing with this acting prowess, the youngster is giving his all to carve a niche in the industry.
Coming from a Bollywood family did give him a head start, but with performances in A Suitable Boy and Beyond the Clouds, Ishaan continues to prove he has earned his cut. Hindi Cinema Debut
Ishaan Khatter’s journey in Bollywood began as a child artist in the 2005-released comedy flick, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, with stepbrother Shahid Kapoor in the lead. A decade later after his small silver screen presence, the youngster took on the role of an assistant director in the movies Udta Punjab and Half Widow.
Career So Far
- His full-length debut as the main protagonist came in Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds. He earned the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for playing the role of a drug peddler.
- Following suit he collaborated with Janhvi Kapoor for Dhadak, a remake of the blockbuster hit Marathi movie Sairat.
- He has since starrer in the Bollywood masala flick Khaali Peeli opposite Ananya Panday and the horror-comedy Phone Bhoot with Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
- Besides mainstream Bollywood, he has appeared in a YouTube short film Fursat, and also had a cameo in the Hollywood film Don’t Look Up.
- One of Ishaan Khatter’s most critically acclaimed projects remains the British miniseries A Suitable Boy. Featuring as Maan Kapoor, the son of a renowned politician, he falls in love with an older courtesan named Saeeda Bai played by seasoned actress Tabu. Following the life of four families in North India, the show takes viewers on a delicate ride of love, ambition, prejudice, humour, and reconciliation.

- PippaThe Dhadak fame will next star in director Raja Krishna Menon’s war film Pippa. Essaying the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, the movie is based on the memoir The Burning Chaffees. It narrates the story of an intense 48-hour Battle of Garibpur during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
- The Perfect CoupleIshaan Khatter will also appear in the upcoming Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple. It is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s novel starring Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, and Liev Schreiber.
