After showing much grit and determination in the entire ODI World Cup tournament 2023, India lost against Australia in the final match. Held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, the hopeful crowd, praying for Rohit Sharma and co’s win was silenced by Pat Cummins-led Australia. Even after the heartbreaking defeat, the masses continued to bleed blue, flooding the internet with appreciatory messages, and lauding Team India’s efforts and hard work. Among the many celebrities who extended their support for Men in Blue was Alia Bhatt. Although she skipped attending the final match, Alia made sure that her heart was with Team India.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Alia Bhatt re-shared a post featuring the 11 members of Team India, originally shared by the Indian Cricket Team on the platform. “Our hearts are forever WON. Well played team India. We hold our heads up high,” she wrote, adding a red heart emoji at the end.

Although several B-town celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Athiya Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi flew to Ahmedabad to watch the historic India vs Australia match, Alia Bhatt and her beau Ranbir Kapoor was not among them. The couple however cheered for the team from their home, twinning in Team India jerseys. In a picture doing the rounds on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Brahmastra co-stars were seen posing for the camera smilingly. Earlier, during the India vs New Zealand semi-final, Ranbir attended the match without Alia.
