Vir Das was recently honoured with the Emmy Award for Comedy at the International Emmy Awards 2023. The comedian won the award for his popular Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. While traveling with his award, he was recently stopped at the Bengaluru airport by security check staff.
The comedian had a hilarous banter with the security staff. Taking to his X handle, he opened up about the same. He shared that that one of the officers asked if it was an idol with sharp edges. He then clarified that it was award.

The tweet read, “Officer: accha hai. Badhai ho. Kya karte ho? Me: Comedian sir. Joke sunata hoon. Him: joke ke liye puruskar milte hain? Me: mujhko bhi ajeeb laga sir. We both laugh. I put it back in the bag. I head to my flight.”
The comedian won the award for his popular Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. The comedian shared the award with Derry Girls Season 3. Both titles were nominated alongside France’s Le Flambeau annd Argentina’s El Encargado.

He also shared pictures with the trophy on social media.
The International Emmy Awards ceremony were held in New York City on November 20. While Vir won, Shefali Shah lost out on her Emmy. The actress lost the award to to Mexican actress Karla Souza for her performance in the series ‘La Cada [Dive]’. The actresses were nominated alongside Connie Nielsen for the Danish project The Dreamer, Becoming Karen Blixen, and Billie Piper in I Hate Suzie Too.
