Renowned American singer-songwriter Michael Bolton recently disclosed a critical health update with his fans on social media. Revealing that he underwent emergency surgery to address a medical issue, he also explained the reason behind the cancellation of his anticipated upcoming tour dates. Bolton took to Instagram to share this personal journey with his fans and the public. In a detailed post, Bolton explained that the diagnosis of the brain tumor occurred just before the onset of the holiday season. On Friday, January 5, Bolton wrote, “I want to share that 2023 ended up presenting with some unexpected challenges.”
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” he added.
The unfortunate event has impacted Bolton’s professional commitments. The 70-year-old singer was originally slated to kick off an extensive international tour in early February in Florida and many others till December 22. Many of these dates will be rescheduled as Bolton rests and recovers.
In his post, Bolton has further written that he would be taking a temporary break to focus on his recovery.
In a heartfelt message to his fans, Bolton conveyed the difficulty of disappointing them and explained his commitment to expediting the recovery process. Despite the setback, he expressed optimism about returning to the stage for live performances shortly. The singer reassured his audience that he is working diligently to accelerate his recuperation and promised to provide updates on his progress as soon as possible.
