BMW Motorrad has unveiled the highly anticipated R 1300 GS adventure tourer, sparking excitement worldwide as it prepares to hit Indian roads.
The bike features a cutting-edge steel sheet-metal frame that’s not only sturdier but also more compact than its predecessor. It’s supported by a die-cast aluminum bolt-on subframe, a testament to BMW’s dedication to innovation.
BMW has given its flagship adventurer a remarkable facelift. The feature hilights include a Matrix LED headlamp with X-shaped LED daytime running lights, an adjustable windscreen for your personal comfort, knuckle guards incorporating integrated LED turn indicators, and a high-tech digital instrument console.
The suspension setup boasts a revamped EVO Telelever front suspension, complemented by a para-lever setup at the rear. BMW also offers Dynamic Suspension Adjustment, capable of adapting damping and preload according to your terrain and riding style. Plus, the bike features an adaptive seat height function, automatically adjusting the saddle height when you’re navigating slowly or at a standstill.
The bike is powered by a 1,300cc twin-cylinder boxer engine, packing a punch with an impressive 143.5 bhp at 7,750 rpm and a robust 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This powerhouse incorporates BMW’s cutting-edge ShiftCam technology and seamlessly pairs with a 6-speed gearbox.
Riders have a range of options with four riding modes: Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro, along with three additional modes: Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, and Enduro Pro. The result? A lighter, more compact powertrain that trims an impressive 12 kg in weight compared to its predecessor.
In the fiercely competitive adventure tourer segment, the BMW R 1300 GS rivals the like of the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 1200, and the Ducati Multistrada V4.
