Virat Kohli continues to trail South African opener Quinton de Kock in the golden bat race after Afghanistan’s win over the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Dilshan Madushanka of Sri Lanka leads the list for the golden ball list. Afghanistan picked up their fourth win in the ODI World Cup 2023, after registering a clinical victory over the Dutch by 7 wickets.
The Netherlands folded for a mere total of 180 runs after a wonderful bowling display from the Afghans. During the chase, skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and Rahmat Shah both scored fifties as the Afghanistan side pulled off a win without breaking much sweat.
Shahidi is the highest run-scorer for Afghanistan having scored 282 runs in seven matches in the tournament so far. Netherlands’ all-rounder Bas de Leede is the highest wicket-taker for the Dutch, with 11 scalps in seven games.

In terms of the overall Golden Bat race, Quinton de Kock leads the charts with 545 runs scored in seven games, followed by ex-India skipper Virat Kohli who has amassed 442 runs. Rachin Ravindra is third in the tally with 415 runs while David Warner is fourth with 413 runs scored.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma stands in fifth place with 402 runs under his belt, followed by Aiden Markram who has smashed 362 runs in the World Cup so far. Pakistan ace Mohammad Rizwan is seventh in the tally with 359 runs scored, while Rassie van der Dussen is next having scored 352 runs so far.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is in ninth place having smashed 346 runs so far in the tournament, while Abdullah Shafique rounds off the top ten with 332 under his belt.

Sri Lankan spinner Madushanka leads the Golden Ball race with 18 wickets, while Shaheen Afridi is in second place with 16 scalps. South Africa’s Marco Jansen is in third place with 16 wickets as well, while Australian spinner Adam Zampa also has 16 wickets and he is in fourth place.
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is in fifth place with 15 wickets to his name, while his countryman Mohammad Shami is in sixth place with 14 wickets to his tally.
New Zealand’s Mitch Santer also has 14 wickets and he is level with Proteas pacer Gerald Coetzee on 14 scalps. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf is ninth in the Golden Ball race with 12 wickets to his name, while Matt Henry rounds off the top ten with his 11 wickets.
