Petrol, and Diesel Prices on October 19: There is a slight decline in the prices of crude oil in the international market. Around 6 am on Thursday, WTI crude was being sold at $ 87.84 per barrel. At the same time, Brent crude has fallen to $ 90.83 per barrel. Oil marketing companies in the country have released the latest rates of petrol and diesel. In India, fuel prices are revised every morning at 6 am. Before June 2017, price revision was done every 15 days.
Today, there is no visible change in the prices of petrol and diesel in most of the states. However, petrol has become costlier by 18 paise in Maharashtra and by 21 paise in Uttar Pradesh. Diesel is also being sold costlier by 16 and 21 paise respectively in both the states. At the same time, in Himachal Pradesh petrol has become cheaper by 28 paise and diesel by 26 paise.
At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre in Chennai.
In India, oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum determine petrol and diesel prices. This is done on a daily basis, and rates are determined in accordance with the price of crude oil throughout the world.
