One of the simplest and most efficient exercises is walking. It is also widely acknowledged as the ideal technique to start a fitness regimen. It offers numerous health advantages, including enhancing mood and vitality and strengthening muscles.

But the question is, is walking the best exercise? Rujuta Diwekar, a renowned nutritionist, shared a video in which she disagrees with the idea. “Is walking the best exercise you can ever do? Sorry to break your heart but it isn’t the best exercise. Just like there isn’t the best boss or the best husband and you have to make everything work well for you," she said.

Rujuta Diwekar referred to walking as a healthy activity. She discussed the advantages of walking and said that it will help you improve blood circulation, digestion, mood, and the quality of your sleep. It also reduces gas problems.

However, walking is not a complete exercise on its own. “For walking to work to its full potential, you have to support it with strength training in the gym and also by practising yoga," she explained.

The expert outlined the four components of exercise and said, “Strength, endurance, extension, and stability make an exercise program comprehensive. Without these, trying to move while flailing your arms around won’t be effective."

Rujuta Diwekar stressed the importance of having pedestrian-friendly roads and sidewalks nearby. She said that a majority of us reside in areas where we drive to a location despite knowing we could walk. Walkable streets must be available to all of us. She concluded by urging the people to vote in favour of it.

So try walking to its full potential. Apart from walking, practice yoga and strength training in the gym to stay fit and healthy.
