To,
Mr. Rahul Gandhi
Vice President
Indian National Congress
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Good Day. I am Sudhi Ranjan Mishra, 40, Male a Communication Specialist residing in Odisha.
I am forced to write this mail to you as I believe Congress is not serious about my State. You have just accepted the defeat in election even before the election. The congress supporters were highly hopeful on your last month visit to the State but all the excitement melted after the recent activities. I just couldn't imagine that person who was leader of opposition, vehemently opposing the govt. inside the sacred house of Assembly for five years has joined the ruling party. I think in independent India such situation has never arisen, there are instances of party hopping but not of this stature. This incident has harmed the image of your party drastically; this shows that the leader of opposition was never in opposition at all he was as shadow supporter of the govt. Till 15 days back he was opposing the govt. very loudly in print and in front of camera but suddenly changed the side. This is a very sorry state of affairs for the democracy as a whole. The development can't be overnight, there is a serious difference within the party which needs to be addressed immediately.
I am also surprised at the selection of your candidates for Loksabha for my State. Cuttack and Bhubaneswar is the heart of the state and the major intellectual voters reside in these two constituencies...but you have given ticket to two film stars instead of two seasoned politicians. You and your team must understand that Odisha is not Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh where film stars rule the mandate; Here people judge the political and intellectual sensibility of the candidate. I don't know how you decide on this?
In last two years there are several issues which could have highlighted by your party in a constructive way and can impress people on your action on them but pity to say all you're so called effort has put a bottom line that even in 2014 Election BJD party will have a cake walk.
I was quite impressed to see large hoardings throughout the state but in other hand I have every doubt that whether you are serious for your victory in Odisha because in this approach you are going to be a mere 3rd party. Even BJP has an edge over you with a co-ordinated effort of selecting the candidate and opposing the govt.
I write you because people wish a miracle to happen under your leadership but if the central leadership is not serious then it's just another election. I am sorry to say your team is not at all in a mood to do correct post-mortem of recent Municipal Election rather living in a fool's paradise of winning a seat in Rajyasabha Election. A seat in Rajyasabha doesn't ensure your party to be a people's representative.
I sincerely wish, with sincere effort you can change the table but that needs to put a great dedication in a short span of time.
With Regards
Sudhi Ranjan Mishra
