Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal on Tuesday evening suspended its MP Ramchandra Hansda and former MLA Subarna Naik who was arrested in Odisha Chitfund scam earlier in the day.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested the BJD MP along with former BJP MLA Hitesh Kumar Bagartti and former-BJD MLA Subarna Naik in connection with the Rs 20,000 crore Odisha chit fund scam.
The CBI sleuths had on Friday arrested a ruling BJD MLA for his alleged complicity with Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradip Sethy, who has duped thousands through a chit fund scam in the state.
