Mumbai: All the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are likely to attend the two-day national executive meeting of the party, beginning in Mumbai on May 24.

"340 leaders from the party have been sent invitation. All the leaders from BJP will be present at the meeting. We will not give any opportunity to our opponents to speak on it," BJP's national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said at a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.

Meanwhile, miffed over the party's top brass sidelining him, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that he will not participate in the national executive meet.

There are also doubts whether Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will attend the meet. When asked about it, Hussain maintained that all BJP leaders would participate in the meet.

Downplaying the political crisis in Karnataka, he said, "Our government is functioning in Karnataka. It will keep functioning there."

Asked whether BJP would support P A Sangma as the presidential candidate, he said that NDA leaders would meet and take a decision after the national executive meeting ends.
