Adampur: Haryana Janhit Congress is fighting elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly in alliance with Venod Sharma's Haryana Jan Chetna Party. But HJC chief Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi had other plans for these elections as he wanted to form a 'mahagathbandhan' (mega alliance) with HJCP, Haryana Lokhit Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.
"The mahagathbandhan could not be formed because of dirty politics by the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. My sources told me that one used the money power and other the power of the Centre. The BJP played dirty politics, back stabbed us. The party has inflated ego," Bishnoi said.
Bishoi will contest elections from his family bastion Adampur, which is presently represented by his wife Renuka. She will contest from Hansi.
When asked why Renuka Bishnoi was not given the ticket from Adampur, he said, "I was a MLA from there. I vacated the seat after I became MP. I am again contesting elections from my seat."
When asked why so much importance is given to Hisar parliamentary constituency as Bishnoi has always fielded family members and close confidantes, he said, "Hisar Parliamentary seat is my family. People are happy with the decision."
The move can also be seen as an attempt by Bishnoi to regain hold over the seat as has lost the seat to Indian National Lok Dal MP Dushyant Chautala in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
Bishnoi, however, ruled out dynasty politics. He said, "This is not dynasty politics as people will choose their leader unlike Rajya Sabha where leaders are elected by the parties."
Even though the HJC has represented Adampur for years, the constituency still lack basic amenities like water, power and sewerage. As a consequence, Budaak village in Adampur has decided to boycott elections.
"I have promised them that their demand will be fulfilled and I hope they will give up their protest and vote in these elections," assured Bishnoi.
