Ambala: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday claimed that people of Haryana have decided to bring INLD-SAD combine to power in the state which goes to polls on Wednesday.

Addressing a gathering in favour of SAD candidate Balwinder Singh Punia, Sukhbir, who is also Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, exuded confidence that the alliance will wrest power in Haryana.

INLD led by former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala is contesting 88 seats, while the remaining two seats are being fought by SAD(B). Sukhbir said people have decided to support the INLD-SAD alliance as it has promised an inclusive government in which every section would be duly looked after.

The SAD chief impressed upon the role played by regional parties in overall development of the nation and said regional parties understand better the aspirations of the people of their state.

He appealed to voters of Haryana to back the INLD-SAD combine "to bridge the gap created by Congress between the two states." SAD is an ally of BJP in Punjab, but in Haryana it has tied up with the INLD. SAD is locked in a direct fight with BJP on two seats - Ambala City and Kolianwali.
