Nagpur: At a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government is facing allegations of being ignorant to cases of rising intolerance in the country, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said that India stands for unity in diversity.
Without taking names or quoting any recent incidents, he said, "Inclusivity is the core of our culture, we stand for unity in diversity. Ethics should change with time but the inherent values should be kept in mind. On the basis of eternal values, social changes are to be made," he said.
"Making Bharatiya mind and soul as the basis, we should adopt whatever is good, truthful and fair from the rest of the world," he added.
The RSS chief also took the opportunity to praise the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and asserted that after long, India is getting respect in the world. "We are building relations with countries. India is finally getting its due, it's getting the respect, there is a feeling of hope," he claimed.
He also said that India is helping other countries at this hour keeping the interest of our country on the forefront. "India is evolving in a new look , world is expecting India to show them the way ahead. A new idea of India is rising in the world. Whenever there is a crisis situation in the world, we come forth to help," he said.
He have the speech to the swayamsevaks at the RSS Headquarters in Nagpur. Long-time Swayamsevaks Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari were present at the function.
