All 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala will go to polls on Friday, while eight constituencies in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh are set to vote in the second phase of the ongoing general elections, scheduled for April 26

The second phase of the voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in 88 constituencies in 13 states and Union territories (UT) is being held on Friday, April 26. The campaigning for the second round of voting ended on Wednesday, April 24.

Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections is witnessing polling in all 20 seats of Kerala, 14 of the 28 seats in Karnataka, 13 seats in Rajasthan, eight seats each in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, six seats in Madhya Pradesh, five seats each in Assam and Bihar, three seats each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, and one seat each in Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir.

Here’s a list of Dos and Don’ts for voters:

Dos

  1. Before going to vote, confirm your name and polling station on the voter list. This can do so by visiting the Election Commission’s official website.
  2. Check the voting hours at your respective polling booth before heading to cast your vote for the crucial Lok Sabha polls 2024.
  3. Carry your voter ID card and other additional identification cards such as Aadhar and driving license, among others.
  4. Before you head out to vote learn more about the candidates contesting from your constituency in order to make a right choice.
  5. After casting your vote, verify the VVPAT machine’s output which is linked to the EVM. In case of any inconsistencies, report to the presiding officer.

Don’ts

  1. Do not use your mobile phone in the polling station.
  2. Avoid taking pictures or selfies while casting your vote as this may lead to consequences.
  3. Impersonating another voter is a serious offence and a person should never cast vote in someone else’s name.
  4. Do not bring anything that promotes a political party’s or candidate’s symbol.
  5. Don’t press more than one button while voting. As a voter, one should not disclose the candidate/party in whose favour you have voted.
