New Delhi: Rajya Sabha mystery candidate Anshuman Mishra on Friday claimed that he was a prime fund raiser of the BJP and alleged that he introduced senior BJP leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi to 2G accused while Dr Joshi was investigating the 2G spectrum scam case.
The independent Rajya Sabha candidate from Jharkhand who withdrew his nomination at the last moment, has levelled serious charges against top BJP leader, Dr Joshi.
Mishra, who was originally being supported by a section of the BJP as a Rajya Sabha nominee, is an NRI businessman and had been accused of trying to buy his way into the Rajya Sabha.
In an interview to CN-IBN, Mishra claimed that he was BJP's fund-raiser for over a decade. Mishra also claimed that Dr Joshi called him seeking funds for elections.
Mishra also levelled a serious allegation that Dr Joshi had secret meetings with 2G beneficiaries in his presence while he was Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman probing the 2G scam.
Mishra claims he had unfettered access to the BJP's top brass and rank and file. Mishra also claimed that he is ready to face any probe into his allegations.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Dr Joshi denied Mishra's allegations. "I will co-operate with the agencies and I contradict the allegations. I deny it. I never asked for funds from anybody like him," clarified Dr Joshi.
The senior BJP leader said that everybody knows how the 2G probe was impartial and fair.
Dr Joshi said Mishra's allegations are fabricated and whatever Mishra is saying with regards to me is absolutely wrong.
