PM personally monitoring situation in Iraq: sources
With the nurses held hostage in Tikrit being moved to an unidentified location by the ISIS militants, PM has asked the External Affairs Ministry to ensure their safety.

New Delhi: With a number of Indians still stranded in various parts of Iraq, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally monitoring situation in the war-torn country, say government sources.

With the nurses held hostage in Tikrit being moved to an unidentified location by the ISIS militants, PM has asked the External Affairs Ministry to ensure their safety. As many as 46 nurses are stuck in Iraq.

The Ministry of External Affairs and Kerala CM Oommen Chandy confirmed earlier in the day that all the nurses have been moved out from the place where they had been staying ever since tension broke out in the country.
