Snoopgate: Commission not yet constituted, says Amit Shah
The Cabinet had decided on December 26 last year to set up the Commission of Inquiry to probe snoopgate charges against Shah and Modi.

Lucknow: Former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the Centre has not yet constituted a Commission to inquire into the snooping scandal involving him and Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"The Commission has not been constituted as per my knowledge," Shah told reporters in Lucknow. He was asked whether the Commission had called him for his version on the snoopgate scandal.

When asked about Gujarat Police refusing to lodge FIR against him and Modi on a complaint by suspended IAS officer Pradeep Sharma, the BJP leader avoided the question. "Unhone jahan complaint diya hai, wahan jane, (Where he has lodged complaint, they know)," he said refusing to comment further.

The Union Cabinet had decided on December 26 last year to set up the Commission of Inquiry to probe charges of spying on a young woman in 2009 allegedly at the behest of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Gujarat police had on January 6 refused to register FIR against Modi, his aide Amit Shah and others in the snooping scandal.
