New Delhi: The battle for Uttar Pradesh is set to intensify with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) planning to campaign against the sub-quota for Muslim OBCs within the 27 per cent OBC quota on Monday.
The BJP slammed the sub-quota calling it divisive and has been referring to it as the Congress' minority appeasement policy.
The BJP has also taken on SP and the BSP saying that the two parties have not oppose the Congress' 'divisive agenda' openly and are secretly supporting it.
Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh had promised that the Muslim sub-quota will be increased from 4.5 per cent to 9 per cent, if the Congress is voted to power in the state.
