The teaser of the much-anticipated Matka is here. Directed by Karuna Kumar, the movie stars Varun Tej, Nora Fatehi, and Meenakshi Chowdary in lead roles.

The teaser of Varun Tej and Nora Fatehi’s much-anticipated release Matka was launched on Saturday afternoon at an event in Vijayawada. The event took place at the G3 Theatres in the city. Starring Varun Tej, Nora Fatehi, and Meenakshi Chowdary in key roles, the teaser has started making waves on social media upon its release.

The 2:01 minute-long teaser of Matka opens with a voice-over that talks about how unequal the distribution of wealth is in the country. As the trailer progresses, the audience is introduced to Varun Tej’s character and Sai Kumar’s character. Kumar plays a jailer in the movie and asks Tej to ensure he joins the elite which has access to 90% of the world’s wealth. He asks him to grab that status so that he leaves his life of struggle behind and does not fight for resources like the others. The teaser shows how Tej rises in his status and becomes the biggest gangster.

Take a look at the teaser of Matka here.

The teaser of Matka does not reveal what Tej does to achieve success and money. It only shows him as a gangster in different stages of his life. However, the title of the movie hints that Tej’s character might have indulged in matka gambling. Even though this form of betting and gambling was illegal, it was extremely popular in India once upon a time. The teaser also hints that the period drama is set in Vizag.

Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka will see Varun Tej play the role of Vasu. He will be supported by Nora Fatehi, Meenakshi Chowdary, Naveen Chandra, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Roopalakshmi, Vijayrama Raju, Jagadeesh, and Raj Thirandas. The movie has been bankrolled by Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments. It is set to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam in theatres on November 14.
