It seems Chinese smartphone brands have locked horns in India to be called the best selfie smartphone through marketing campaigns and Gionee seems to have taken the battle a bit too far.
The company has released an OTA update for its latest A1 smartphone to add a “#Selfiestan folder" in the image gallery of the phone. According to Gionee, this will “strengthen its Indian selfie movement."
Thankfully for users, the new OTA update offers a little more than just renaming the selfie folder to “#selfiestan". The update will also provide a smooth experience to watch and manage video. Users can enjoy watching the videos in a common video player for both YouTube and Local videos. In addition, with the new update A1 users will be able to watch YouTube videos in a floating window.
The new update offer A1 users to create their own album in music library. The new feature will further enhance experience of music lovers through easy navigation while adding alphabetic search feature in the music library. Gionee OTA also offers a customised suspend button functionality, updated Google security patch. Further, the update fixes minor bugs and enhance the performance of the device.
