Google's knack for Easter eggs is not hidden from us, but to the surprise of many the company couldn't restrain itself from including an Easter egg in its otherwise serious announcement post about the new holding company called Alphabet.

Google's knack for Easter eggs is not hidden from us, but to the surprise of many the company couldn't restrain itself from including an Easter egg in its otherwise serious announcement post about the new holding company called Alphabet.

Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page, perhaps, would have thought of including this inside joke while penning down the announcement post for Alphabet. To see what is that joke, go to the company's new site, and search for "drone". Once discovered, click on the period after "drone delivery effort" and you will be taken to Hooli XZY, the moonshot division of Hooli, a Google-like company from the HBO series Silicon Valley. Alphabet has the same top-level domain as Hooli XYZ, i.e, .xyz.

With this, Page gives a secret nod to his company's imaginary rival Hooli XYZ, Hooli's so-called experimental division.

While Hooli XZY has a broken potato cannon semi-working prototype as the last product to its credit and Alphabet's plans include beaming Internet from balloons.

What's your reaction?
