So far, people with bionic limbs have controlled them with manual settings.
Reykjavik: In a new advent in technology, a company in Iceland is conducting research on the feasibility of mind-controlled prosthetic legs. The company said sensors are surgically placed in residual muscle tissue and none of the subjects of the research have experienced any form of rejection.
So far, people with bionic limbs have controlled them with manual settings.
Gummi Olafsson, one of the patients, said, "I can use the sensor to move my foot in the position I want. I couldn't believe it, I could actually move my ankle."
Dr Ingvarsson, surgeon, said, "We insert the sensor into the muscle and use local anaesthesia. It was a straight-forward operation without any complications."
