Unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona, Spain, Nokia 3310 would launch in Malaysia by the end of April. This comes few weeks after HMD Global had said that it is mulling to release the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 andNokia 6 in 120 markets simultaneously in Q2 2017.
The iconic Nokia 3310 (revamped version) will launch in Malaysia at the end of April, while the launch of the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 there will be staggered throughout May. The Nokia 3 is expected to go on sale first at the beginning of the month, the 5 in mid-May, and the 6 towards the end of the month, said a report.
To recall, the new Nokia 3310 has been revamped and redesigned and the new version offers 10 times more battery power than the original model. It boasts of 22 hours of talktime and up to one month of standby.
Nokia 3310 2017 edition sports similar looks, though it has a larger colour screen, a camera on the back and a slimmer build this time.
Of course, the Nokia 3310 will not offer a full-fledged WhatsApp app like on Android or iOS, but a version which is compatible with Series 30+ software powering the Nokia 3310.
HMD Global has a licence to design and sell Nokia branded phones globally as well as use technologies developed by Nokia Corporation. The new Nokia 3310 has a 1200mAh removable battery.
