New Delhi: After announcing its flagship OnePlus 2 smartphone, the Chinese smartphone maker is all geared up to unveil a third affordable smartphone at an event today.
Although popular speculations side with a OnePlus Mini nomenclature as a possible successor and a mini version of the OnePlus 2 smartphone. However, the media invite shows a lit-up ‘X’, referring to the device being named OnePlus X.
The new Android smartphone, described ‘powerfully beautiful’, is expected to carry a display size of 5.5-inch and priced in the mid-range category.
With a mid-range pricing, the OnePlus X is unlikely to compete with high-end devices like the HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S6 like the earlier released OnePlus 2 does.
Other than launching the anticipated device, OnePlus is also expected to make some key announcements, including the ones around ‘Make in India’ initiative at the event.
The company’s Twitter feed is currently buzzing with interesting sneak peeks into today’s event. One of the tweets asks, “If you could build a smartphone from any material, what would it be.” Before we could answer, there’s another one asking, “If there’s more than one product launching.”
