Periscope is Apple's 2015 App of the Year

Livestreaming app Periscope has been named Apple's App of the Year.

Apple describes the app as a game-changer for sharing and broadcasting live video.

It's a big honour for developers who launched the app less than a year ago. Since March, Periscope has been downloaded more than 10 million times. It was also snapped up by Twitter shortly before hitting the market.
