New Delhi: Remember the good old 'A/S/L' days of Yahoo Messenger? The troubled internet company has decided to discontinue the old version of its messaging service for good.
Launched as 'Yahoo Pager' back in 1998, the 18-year-old legacy version of Yahoo Messenger will no longer be functional from August 5, 2016.
The new Yahoo Messenger will become the sole way of exchanging messages, emojis, or GIFs. Yahoo is asking users to upgrade to the new version because from August, users of the old service will not be able to send or receive messages.
The redesigned version of the messaging service includes features like instant photo sharing, support for GIFs, and also an option to unsend messages.
The new Yahoo Messenger will also be available on Android and iOS other than the desktop and mail versions.
