TV star Adnan Khan is presently ruling the hearts with his prowess in the ongoing hit series Prachhand Ashok. The Colors TV show, which revolves around the majestic love story of Mauryan emperor Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki, is making all the right noises. Now Adnan, who essays the titular role of Samrat Ashok, got candid about his preparation for the character.
In conversation with news agency IANS, the actor revealed that he took “the sword fighting classes” ahead of the shooting. Not only this, but the actor also underwent martial arts training, in a bid to enhance his flexibility. The report quoted Adnan Khan, as saying, “The martial arts training has certainly been beneficial as it enhances flexibility. However, I believe that for this role, the sword fighting classes I undertook, were even more crucial.”
Continuing further, Adnan Khan talked about how he always admired “sword fighting sequences” on screen. While he has always hoped to be able to perform those stunts with such finesse, it’s hard for the human body to respond the same way without practice. Therefore, the actor credited his classes for helping him achieve an emperor’s style.
Adnan Khan added, “We often watch films and admire sword fighting sequences, wishing we could do the same. But once you hold a sword, your body doesn’t respond the way you expect it to. So, these classes were invaluable in helping me develop the style of an emperor.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the release of his show, Adnan Khan also shared his perspective on the impact of OTT platforms in the television industry. In an interview with a media portal, Adnan said that while both the platforms cater to different audiences, “there are times when shows try to break the mould”. Clarifying his statement, the actor gave the example of his previous show, Katha Ankahee. The actor continued by claiming that while not always a dark show would be appreciated on television, this is “where OTT platforms come in.”
