Delnaaz Irani and Vikas Sethi had lost touch after their initial collaboration, occasionally checking on with each other over the years.

The sudden and tragic passing of popular television actor Vikas Sethi has left the entertainment industry mourning, with his friends and colleagues expressing grief. The actor’s last rites were held in Mumbai on September 9. It was attended by popular TV personalities like Hiten Tejwani, Jaswir Kaur, Mehul Nisar, Sharad Kelkar and Shabir Ahluwalia. Kal Ho Naa Ho actor Delnaaz Irani, who had recently worked with Vikas in an advertisement, also shared her shock upon hearing the news. Delnaaz, who had known Vikas for over a decade, reportedly expressed, “I just got to know from a friend that Vikas is no more. It is extremely shocking and sad. I have known Vikas since 2008 when we did a dance show together titled Zara Nachke Dikha.”

The two actors had lost touch after their initial collaboration, occasionally checking in with each other over the years. However, three months ago, they reunited while working on a commercial. Delnaaz shared, “We were so happy to connect after so many years. At that time, I also met his wife. I still don’t know the reason behind his passing away but he seemed fine to me when we met, which is why this has come as a shock to me. I hope his family gets strength in these tough times. Life is very unpredictable.”

In her conversation with Hindustan Times, Delnaaz further reflected, “Vikas was a wonderful and warm person. When you work, you form a bond, and after the project wraps up, often connections are lost. We shared the same warm camaraderie in the recent ad we did. He seemed hale and hearty, but as they say, life is unpredictable.”

Actor Vikas Sethi, popular for his roles in TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga and Kasautii Zindagi Kay, passed away on Sunday, September 8, at the age of 48.

He has left behind his wife, Jhanvi and their twin sons. In a statement to PTI, Jhanvi explained that Vikas fell ill after they arrived in Nashik for a family function. Despite experiencing symptoms, he resisted visiting the hospital, prompting them to call a doctor to their home. Tragically, Jhanvi found him unresponsive at 6 am the next morning, and doctors confirmed that he had passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest.
