Many people have different phobias. Recently, one news came to light that a schoolboy from the UK named Farouk James suffers from a unique phobia of cutting his hair, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention. According to reports, the 12-year-old boy has never had his haircut using scissors. Now, his hair is thicker and longer than any other girls, but the problem is that the schoolmates don’t like it at all. They want him to come to school with his hair neatly cut. Along with this, every school has some basic rules that everyone needs to follow, but the boy’s problem is that he is afraid of haircuts. Doctors have named his phobia tonsurephobia, in which the patient is petrified of cutting hair.

Farouk’s parents understand the fear of the child, but the school is not ready to accept it. Even after getting the doctor’s note, the school administration is asking him to cut his hair. Farouk’s mother, meanwhile, shared that she was ready to send the child with a ponytail, but the school doesn’t even allow that. The boy has been punished many times, and now the fear is that he may be expelled from the school because the school is not accepting of this type of phobia.

Farouk is very famous on social media because of his hair, and he has more than 2.5 lakh followers on Instagram. Recently, a video of Farouk went viral on social media, where he was seen doing a photoshoot. He was seen wearing a basic white T-shirt, which he teamed with a black shirt and matching black pants. He rounded off his look with a pair of black sneakers and a yellow shade.

The clip was shared on his official Instagram handle. “Dear Lord, please bless this boy with health and happiness always. Amen,” reads the caption.

Tonsurephobia is the fear of getting a haircut. The word Tonsurephobia is derived from the Greek words ‘Tonsure’ meaning ‘to cut’ and ‘Phobos’ meaning ‘deep dread or aversion’.
