Recently, a dance group of four men rose to prominence for their unique performance in globally hit songs wearing a mundu (Lungi). The group gained recognition on the Malayalam dance reality programme D 4 Dance. In the latest, they decided to perform on the 1997 famous Backstreet Boys single Everybody.

The group, which includes dancers Jeev, Vijeesh Vichu, Rakesh Rakku, and Taajju Rajil, has become a sensation due to their ability to combine Kerala’s cultural history with the global appeal of pop music. The dance troupe was seen wearing violet mundus, white shirts, and flip-flops as they performed the routines choreographed by Taajju Rajil. The clip was posted on their Instagram page with the caption, “In the world of ordinary, we are the extraordinary Manavalans: Where uniqueness is woven into every fabric. This video? Just another brushstroke on our canvas of distinctiveness.”

The clip has already earned more than 7 million views since being posted and the routine has left netizens stunned. A user reacted, “Never released we needed this,” while another expressed, “These lungi boys are new favourite thing on Instagram.”

Many users who loved the performance stated, “After a very long time, this just lifted my spirit up…awesome guys. Enjoyed every bit of it.” Some also named them the, “Indian backstreet boys.”

A user complimented the routine saying, “Awesome choreography…creative and funny,” while another was stunned by the expressions. People even wanted the band to notice the dancers and commented, “Ayo somebody tag backstreet boys this is lit.”

Some time back, the dance group performed a mix of Michael Jackson’s songs, giving it their own unique touch. In this video as well, the group is seen performing wearing green mundus, shirts, and slippers. This distinct feature gives a certain charm to their dances, distinguishing them from the typical dance routines.
