The recent floods in Dubai have caused several flights to be delayed or cancelled, leaving passengers stranded in the airport. Amid the chaos, a father shared how an airline company helped his daughter, who was travelling alone and missed her flight. Manish Kalghatgi, complimented Emirates Airlines for taking exceptional care of his adolescent daughter after she missed her connecting flight in Dubai.
Manish Kalghatgi said that his 15-year-old daughter made her first solo international journey from Casablanca to Chennai on Sunday. He stated that while she was delighted to go alone, he, as a parent, was anxious as Emirates had encountered significant problems last week owing to the storm and flooding in Dubai. As expected, aircraft operations were disrupted, and the daughter missed her connecting flight which was scheduled for 2 AM.”But EK (Emirates) were just brilliant in the handling. On arrival, M was met in the aircraft, informed of the changes and escorted to a transit hotel room to rest and recover before the next flight,” wrote Manish.
This is an appreciation post for @emirates.Yesterday, daughter M (15) flew unaccompanied from Casablanca to Chennai – her first solo international journey. While she was excited to travel alone, we were a bit on the edge given the chaos EK went through in the past week… 1/4

Meanwhile, around 4 AM, he received a call from Emirates alerting him of the missed flight and how his daughter was being cared for.”At the same time, I was woken up around 4 AM by a call from a most calm and reassuring EK executive, informing me of the missed connection & steps taken. The communication delivery was so effective that not for a moment thereafter was I concerned about the situation M (Daughter) was in.”
The father stated that in this situation, when the entire operation for Emirates was “thrown off gear” this was a good initiative and an effective way to get back in business. “This is what customer focus and service excellence are all about. Well done, Emirates,” Manish Kalghatgi said.
Reading Manish’s post, a user also noted, “I’m not surprised about it as the airlines always raise the bar when it comes to service and customer satisfaction.”

The Dubai International Airport temporarily halted operations as the city experienced heavy rain starting April 16. Reportedly, the runway at the airport was flooded and major traffic congestion occurred in Dubai. The rain also affected major parts of the city and its infrastructure.
