Restaurant Bill From 2007 Gets The Internet Talking On Rise In 'Inflation'
A restaurant bill of food items and drinks at affordable prices is going viral on the internet.

The internet is filled with nostalgia. Whether it is a wedding invitation, vintage pictures, or any random bills from 50-60 years ago, these elements serve as a nostalgic trip for all, including the elderly and the younger generation. One such picture of a restaurant bill from 2007 has sparked a fresh discussion online. Shared on Reddit, the bill shows how food and drink prices have surged over the years.

From a Delhi-based restaurant called The Supper Factory, the bill contains a total of ten items with rates as low as Rs 180. While something as sizeable as Lahori Murgh Tandoori costs Rs 180, the prices of four whiskey and five beer bottles come at a minimal cost of Rs 100 and Rs 300, respectively. With 10 items in the bill, the overall amount comes down to Rs 2,522.

The picture has been shared by a Reddit user with a caption that reads, “Found 2 bills from 2007 bar visits in Delhi. Man, I can’t believe prices of food and alcohol have jumped up so much." The post also sparked a wave of responses online, showing users divided.

A user wrote, “Exactly, in 2007, this amount was equal to approximately 3 grams of gold, which in today’s rate is approximately 20k, so it was never cheaper," while another commented, “Sure, but most people’s salaries haven’t appraised as much as the inflation has. But yeah it wasn’t pocket-friendly, I agree."

“Can we all just for a moment appreciate OP for his extreme care of bills. It’s 17 years, brother !!!!!" a comment read, while another added, “2007 feels like just 7-8 years ago to me, not 17 years!"

Earlier, another restaurant bill from 1985 went viral on the internet, leaving everyone surprised. The bill shows a plate of Shahi Paneer costing Rs 8, while Dal Makhani and Raita just Rs 5 each. “Bill dates 20th Dec, 85," the caption read.

The differences in the prices of the food items triggered an array of reactions, with many highlighting the affordability in the 80s.
